Today the Treasury Department issued a list of designated qualified opportunity zones (OZs) in 15 states and three territories. The Treasury’s list is current as of April 9, 2018 and is a preliminary list that will be updated with additional designations. An official list will be published by the IRS at a later date.The IRS is currently working on further guidance, including the certification of Qualified Opportunity Funds and eligible investments in Qualified Opportunity Zones.

- California
- Colorado
- Georgia
- Idaho
- Kentucky
- Michigan
- Mississippi
- Nebraska
- New Jersey
- Oklahoma
- South Carolina
- South Dakota
- Vermont
- Wisconsin
The territories include: Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa.
